MARCH & APRIL 2025 - SOCIO-CULTURAL ACTIVITIES

Speed up the development of your language skills by participating in the Socio-Cultural Activities program and have a great time while doing it.

12.3. TOWER LOTRŠČAK VISIT

Zagreb’s Upper Town represents a charming network of little streets stretching between two hills, Kaptol and Gradec. In opposition to energetic and vivid Lower Town, the Upper Town has a special, nostalgic atmosphere which reminds us of old times. Some of city’s most important sights are located here, such as St Mark Church, Stone gate, lots of interesting museums and Tower Lotrščak, where we will see the best panoramic view over Zagreb. The tower was built in the 13th century to guard the southern gate of Gradec town. Join us in discovering this beautiful, vintage part of Zagreb! Afterwards, we will enjoy drinks in one of the sunny terraces.

19.3. NATURAL HISTORY MUSEUM VISIT

Reserve your Wednesday for one of the biggest Croatian museums whose reopening we were impatiently waiting for – the National History Museum, located in the historic Amadeo Palace in the Upper Town. After 3 years of renovation, the museum space was increased to 3600 square meters, which promises lots of interesting mineralogical, petrographical and zoological exhibits (over 2 million artefacts) and interactive, modernized content. This profesionally guided tour is a unique chance where we will get to know everything about rich Croatian natural heritage, so don’t miss it!

26.3. ETNOGRAPHIC MUSEUM VISIT

Tradition and cultural heritage is something Croatians are very proud of, and no one treasures it better than the great team in the Etnographic Museum. The Museum’s collection counts more than 85000 cultural artefacts, such as old tools and vessels but also old furniture, musical instruments, traditional Croatian costumes and dresses specific for each region. Join us in this interesting historical walk through a great, profesionally guided tour – afterwards, we will discuss what we liked most over a cup of coffee!

2.4. RAKIJA TIME – WORKSHOP

Every country has its traditional drink – rakija is definitely Croatia’s. Whether you are feeling sick, sad, cold or even happy, the Croatians will offer you this ‘nectar of gods’ as an universal medicine. The only difference that varies from region to region is the taste, which can be herbal or fruit based. Join us in this fun workshop where we will learn about the history and importance of this spirit, its multiple usages and, most importantly, have a sip or two! Afterwards, we will vote and choose the best rakija.
