Get ready to see Zagreb from a whole new (and slightly cosmic) perspective! The Zagreb Planet Hunt starts with the iconic “Grounded Sun” in the city centre and invites you to set off on a playful mission to find planets hidden all across the city. But don’t expect a serious science lesson – this is more of a real-life adventure where every street corner might surprise you with a tiny, hidden piece of the universe.
As you wander through lively squares, quiet streets, and even unexpected neighbourhoods, you’ll slowly “travel” farther and farther from the Sun, just like in space. The planets are scattered throughout Zagreb in different directions, turning your walk into a fun treasure hunt that both locals and visitors love. Some are easy to spot, others require a bit of curiosity and exploration—which is all part of the fun .
What makes this experience truly special is that it’s all built on a real-life scale: the sizes of the planets and their distances from the Sun are carefully calculated to match our actual Solar system . This means that as you explore, the city itself becomes your universe—stretching from the busy centre all the way to the outskirts. It’s a unique mix of art, discovery, and light adventure that makes you feel like you’re orbiting through Zagreb, one planet at a time.
Anyone currently learning Croatian at CLA can participate free of charge.
Additional individual costs like admission tickets, food or drinks need to be covered by each student individually.
Even though student participation in the activities is free, it is mandatory that you sign up at least a day in advance.
Inform your professor if you want to participate, and they will add you to the list.
