Is there a better way to start our new intensive course cycle than with a touch of science? Technical Museum Nikola Tesla, a real gem dedicated to this great inventor, will help us in that. Under professional guidance, we will see attractive experiments and replicas of Tesla’s inventions, as well as other brilliant parts of this gigantic museum!

If you thought that learning Croatian is all about learning grammar and vocabulary, you were wrong! Knowing interesting trivia will unbelievably boost your Croatian skills and you will be able to converse about even more topics. Join us in this exciting group activity where you will get to know even more about Croatia’s culture, music, language, food and everyday life. May the best team win!
5.2.2025. MSU visit
Novi Zagreb hides some magical places – the shiniest amongst them is definitely MSU, The Museum of Contemporary Art. Located in Dubrovnik Avenue, it is the biggest and most modern museum in Croatia, with an incredible amount of 12,000 objects (of which 600 are on permanent display) by contemporary Croatian and world artists kept there. Join us on this ride and and explore the beating heart of Croatian contemporary art. After seeing some of the current exhibitions, we’ll wrap up the experience with a chat at the wonderful museum café.

Valentine’s day holds a very special place in Croatian tradition. Come 14 February, people all over Croatia try to impress their loved ones, friends or partners with kind words and beautiful gifts. As a language with a very specific vocabulary, Croatian has a quite a special way of expressing love and affection. Join us in this themed workshop where you will learn about history of Valentine’s day in Croatia as well as learn how to compliment and show love to people around you the right way – the Croatian way!

Explore the beauty of one of the most significant institutions and one of the most beautiful buildings in the country, the Croatian National Theatre (HNK)! Join us in this unique opportunity where we will discover and explore how theatre functions from the inside by participating in a guided tour. Afterwards, we will drink coffee in Kavkaz, a well known café where all the actors and musicians meet after their plays.
Who can participate in CLA Socio-Cultural Activities?
Anyone currently learning Croatian at CLA can participate free of charge.
Is everything free of charge?
Additional individual costs like admission tickets, food or drinks need to be covered by each student individually.
Do I need to sign up for an activity?
Even though student participation in the activities is free, it is mandatory that you sign up at least a day in advance.
How do I sign up?
Inform your professor if you want to participate, and they will add you to the list.
